Industry-University Collaboration Towards a Zero-Carbon Future: Suninergy Donates Solar Training Equipment to Southwest Jiaotong University

On July 20, Suninergy Technology Co., Ltd. donated photovoltaic training equipment and practical training materials to the School of Integrated Circuit Science and Engineering (School of CRRC Times Microelectronics), Southwest Jiaotong University. The donation ceremony was held at the Industry-Education Integration Training Base on the university’s Emei Campus.

The ceremony was attended by representatives from both the university and Suninergy, including Hao Li, Executive Vice Dean of the School; Zhao Duo, Secretary of the School’s Party Committee; Tang Chen, Executive Vice President of Suninergy; Liu Dong, the faculty member responsible for Industry-Education Integration.

Turning Solar Technology into Hands-On Learning

The donation consists of two key components: training equipment for photovoltaic power generation and intelligent operation & maintenance, as well as practical training materials for solar tracking systems.

The donated equipment includes intelligent PV module-cleaning robots and shuttle vehicle, solar tracking mounting structures, and related intelligent devices. These systems will be used in renewable energy courses to support practical teaching, enabling students to gain a deeper understanding of the operating principles behind PV generation, tracking control, and intelligent O&M systems.

The accompanying training materials will allow students to participate in the complete process of assembling solar tracking structures, installing and commissioning systems, and conducting power-generation tests. Through these practical activities, students will further enhance their engineering capabilities and system application skills.

To support outdoor training activities during the summer, Suninergy also donated outdoor canopies to the training base, providing additional support and protection for teachers and students during field practice.During the installation stage, Suninergy engineer Zhu Qiang was stationed on-site to oversee project implementation. Within one week, he completed the installation and commissioning of the PV power generation and O&M systems and helped in setting up the solar tracker demonstration system, providing technical support for future teaching applications.

Connecting Academic Learning with Industry Practice

During the exchange session, Tang Chen emphasized that the continued development of the renewable energy industry depends on professionals who possess both solid theoretical foundation and strong engineering capabilities.

“By introducing actual equipment and real-world application scenarios into the university, we hope to enable students to gain early exposure to industry practices and establish a closer connection between academic learning and practical applications,” he said.

As energy technologies increasingly converge with artificial intelligence, the two parties aim to further explore a collaborative model built around joint project development, shared platform construction, joint talent cultivation, and shared achievements.

Learning Through Real Equipment and Projects

Following the ceremony, representatives from Suninergy and the university visited the intelligent cleaning robot and solar tracking mounting system training platforms. They reviewed the operating principles, technical features, and practical teaching applications teaching of the donated equipment.

The delegation also visited student training sessions, including a first-year go-kart project and the assembly and commissioning of photovoltaic tracking systems. Faculty members, students, and company representatives discussed the training activities, operating procedures, and practical challenges encountered during the projects.

Drawing on Suninergy’s project experience, Tang Chen introduced the company’s work in PV mounting systems and intelligent O&M solutions and discussed the industry’s growing demand for multidisciplinary talent.

He encouraged students to transform challenges encountered during practice into learning projects, deepen their understanding of professional knowledge through hands-on experience, and continuously improve their ability to solve real-world engineering problems.

Building Skills for a Greener Future

The donation marks another practical step in the collaboration between Suninergy and the School.

Looking ahead, the two sides plan to explore the development of an integrated training platform covering PV mounting systems, intelligent O&M, and energy storage applications. They will also seek opportunities in joint curriculum development, engineer-led classroom sessions, and student participation in real industry projects.

Located near the Mount Emei Scenic Area, the campus provides a distinctive setting where photovoltaic training facilities are integrated into the surrounding natural environment. The site offers valuable opportunities for renewable energy education, engineering practice, and the exploration of greener campus applications.

By combining Suninergy’s experience in PV mounting systems and intelligent O&M with the School’s research and teaching strengths in power semiconductor technologies, the collaboration will explore how renewable energy solutions can support greener campuses and tourism destinations.

By bringing industry equipment into the classroom and connecting student training with real projects, Suninergy aims to support the development of skilled professionals for the evolving renewable energy sector and contribute to the transition toward a low-carbon future.
